Football League One (often referred to as League One for short or Coca-Cola Football League 1 for sponsorship reasons) is the second-highest division of The Football League and third-highest division overall in the English football league system. It is the most profitable and competitive third-tier football league in the world.

Football League One was introduced for the 2004-2005 season. It was previously known as the Football League Second Division and before the advent of the Premier League, as the Football League Third Division.

i got promoted with Nott'em forest 1st season however was play offs made some good free signings as didn't have loads of money malcom christie, jody morris, david thompson, steve marlet and probably the best signing was danny haynes LOAN scored 52 goals in 58 games all comps in championship only ever paid for one player bought haynes for 1 million hope this helps.
