I started a game with Crawley Town in FMH07, FMH only allows you to manage one country per game and only goes down to the Conference National, because Crawley Town starts -10 points I decided to give them a shot and see if I could save the club from relegation.
2006/07 Conference National
We start the season with a 10 point deduction and the board is expecting relegation. We manage to climb out of the relegation zone by christmas and in 17th place but a horrible run of form finds us relegated with 2 games left.
Highlights, On loan keeper conceeds only 47 goals in 44 games.
Low, Relegated with 2 games left, no room in the wage bill to improve the squad
After relegation I apply for every opening I can get and manage to get a job with Conference National Champions Oxford FC three days before they play the FA trophy final. Unfortunately this I lose this game 1-4 to Gateshead.
2007/08 League 2 Oxford
The board expects a relegation battle and I decide the squad needs some rebuilding So I bring in 8 players before the start of the season and allow 3 strikers to leave and 2 central defenders as I don't think their league 2 quality. The first half of the season is a struggle as I tinkered with the squads formation every game but we were in 17th place by January and I figured with a few good signings we could challenge for a playoff spot. We sign six players in January and our two prized signings are a 15 year old center midfielder who starts 20 games for us and a striker who scores 11 goals in 18 games which gets us into 6th place and a playoff spot. We lost in the finals, I can't remember who it was to but it was 1-3.

The board believes we can challenge for promotion and we justify their expectations by being on top of the table by January. Unfortunately a bad run of form and injuries sees us fall to 5th place by March. Fortunatlely we recover our form and finish in 2nd place gaining automatic promotion. One of my strikers was named League 2 Young Player of the Year and scored 25 goals in 49 games, while I was runner up to League 2 Manager of the year.

Oxford are sleeping Giants, well when I say giants I mean taller than the average lower league team, and as such not to tough a challange to cut your lower league teeth on.
Thanks for the encouragement, I knew that Oxford were fairly large for lower league, I forgot to add that I was sacked by Crawley Town with two games left. Fortunately for me a Premiership manager was sacked and a Championship manager took his post and this began a chain effect, until finally the recently sacked manager of a team that placed 23rd in the conference took over for a manager that just won the Conference National for Oxford. It's weird but it's not uncommon in the handheld edition for a Premiership or Championship manager to get the sack and create a ripple effect through the league.
2008/09
The board expects a relegation battle again, I guess it's no surprise since we start the season with the second lowest wage bill in L1 (and were over our budget,) but we manage to prove them wrong and are in 1st place going into January. The second half of the season looks optimistic for us but injuries to our starting goalkeeper begin to lead to a downturn in form and caused us to fall into 6th place. It was frustrating as we went from conceeding 1 goal a game to three goals in 6 straight games. The only thing that saved us from not making the playoffs was our pacy striker who scored 42 goals in 56 games.
We played in the playoff finals against Colchester and allowed them to score an early goal. At half time the score was 1-0 Colchester and they scored again in the 50th minute, after it looked like all hope was lost our 15 year old midfielder (who's now 18) scored in the 79th minute and three minutes later our pacey striker scored to give us the equalizer. I accepted the fact that we might have to play in extra-time, until Colchester scored in injury time. I don't know whats worse getting relegated or losing in the playoffs.
IN 8, notable signings were a versataile Jamaican loan player who dissapointed, We also brought in two young keepers spending 85k on one and 16k on the other. Our 85k began the season in the first 11, but made some mistakes so we put our first choice in. When our first choice went out both dissapointed and failed to live up to expectations. Both of our on loan players were injured alot and we also signed two former premiership backups, who were solid, but once again I expected a lot better. It wasn't all bad though as we brought in a LB in January who seemed to fix our problems on the left side.
Out 7
We released one GK and four underperforming defenders, to help improve our defence. Unfortunately as were over budget we sold one midfielder for 110k and released another on a free transfer, we still weren't under budget though.

Cups suck arse.
Johnstone's Paint Trophy sucks arse the most (certainly in England).
Therefore Johnstone's Paint Trophy is the Eidos Suck Arse Trophy, as Eidos suck arse as well.
