Frank sent me to Cuneo in the Italian Serie C2A. All Italian leagues plus top divisions from Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Germany, France and Holland loaded with a large database.

Cuneo (Serie C2A) 2006-2007

media: 9th (out of 18)
board: stay clear of relegation
fans: stay clear of relegation

transfer budget: 22K euro
transfers in: 3 (6K)
transfers out: 0

Had some trouble with staff; four physios and one coach is a little unbalanced, so I had to fiddle a little with mutual terminations and stuff. Signed one promising goalkeeper for 6K and two midfielders on frees.

Season started very well, we were top of the table after five games. Form was patchy though, so we didn't stay there for very long. We did manage to hang on to a play-off spot for the rest of the season and we eventually ended in second place.

A wonderful performance (0-3) in the away leg of the play-off semi against Pro Vercelli makes me dream of promotion. I played some youngsters and reserves in the home game and almost paid for it. Although we lost 0-3, I still made the final due to our higher place in the league. Pergocrema didn't really pose a threat in the final and I practically secured promotion with a 0-4 win in the first leg.

Promotion! \o/

This makes me feel a little worried, we overachieved greatly this season and I'm afraid the step up will be really difficult.

results:

P34 W18 D6 L10 F59 A41 GD+18 Pts60 (pos. 2nd)

play-off semi: vs Pro Vercelli: 0-3 0-3 (won on league position)
play-off final: vs Pergocrema: 0-4 2-1

I got second in manager of the year, Experienced Targetman won Serie C2 player of the year, Experienced Striker won league topscorer with 26 and also scored the two nicest goals of the season, 4 players made team of the year.

Cuneo topscorer: Experienced Striker (26)
Cuneo fans POTY: Experienced Striker

Oh, and cups did suck arse.

Cuneo (Serie C1A) 2007-2008

media: 15th (out of 18)
board: battle bravely against relegation
fans: battle bravely against relegation

transfer budget: 6K euro
transfers in: 11 (3K)
transfers out: 3 (0)

Signed some much needed improvements; 2 excellent young strikers (Itallian Stallion and Spanish Bull), two centre-backs, a midfielder, two Belgian wingers and the rest were all full-backs.

We had a very decent season, never competed for the play-offs and never in danger of relegation. I'm obviously really satisfied with the team, but the bank balance is taking a nose dive. I'm afraid I'll be forced to sell at least two of my stars in the off-season.

results:

P34 W13 D7 L14 F52 A48 GD+4 Pts46 (pos. 8th)

We had three players in the team of the year and Italian Stallion was signing of the year. He was picked up on a free and is now worth 2.1m, a nice profit if you ask me.

Cuneo topscorer: Italian Stallion (18)
Cuneo fans POTY: Experienced Targetman

Cups still sucked arse.

I wanted to lower our debt significantly, so I sold Spanish Bull for 500K+30% to Pescara. Then, suddenly, the board announces an expansion of the stadium by 3462 seats. I check my finances and what do I see: The stadium costs us 1.5m and we receive a grant for 3.5m!
This means we now have 1.5m in the bank. \o/

Cuneo (Serie C1A) 2008-2009

media: 14th (out of 18)
board: battle bravely against relegation
fans: battle bravely against relegation

transfer budget: 386K euro
transfers in: 7 (60K)
transfers out: 12 (500K)

We were able to build on last year's results and were in competition for the play-offs all season long. Our performances were really boosted by our new African DC/DM, bought for 60K, a new Italian midfielder and three loanees from parent club Torino (the first time they actually sent players worth using).

In the end, we ended up in fourth place. Play-off semi-final saw us face Lucchese. The home leg was a one-sided affair, but our strikers couldn't finish the opportunities. Lucchese then scored in the 92nd minute. We didn't stand a chance in the away leg and were very lucky to draw 2-2.

results:

P34 W17 D8 L9 F53 A42 GD+11 Pts59 (pos. 4th)

play-off semi: vs Lucchese: 0-1 2-2

Torino Loanee Midfielder won Serie C1 player of the year, 3 players made the team of the year and Cuneo was chosen overachievers of the year.

Cuneo topscorer: Italian Stallion (22)
Cuneo fans POTY: Experienced Targetman (again)

Cups even sucked more arse than before. (knocked out in group stage Serie C Cup, the shame! ;-) )

Cuneo (Serie C1B) 2009-2010

media: 17th (out of 18)
board: battle bravely against relegation
fans: stay clear of relegation

transfer budget: 535K euro
transfers in: 13 (750K)
transfers out: 29  (2.2M)

For some reason, we suddenly played in the Serie C1B this season.

Italian Stallion got cranky about wanting to move on, so I sold him to Dortmund for 2.2m+50%. Bought some players, but still struggling to find quality in certain positions.

Season wasn't going all to well, I blame it on the change of division. :p We went up and down the lower part of the table all season. An improvement in form for the last five games saw us end in 11th position.

results:

P34 W12 D9 L13 F48 A39 GD+9 Pts45 (pos. 11th)

Italian Playmaker got second in the Serie C1B player of the year. Him and my young centre-half also got into the team of the year. Italian Playmaker and Big Cloggie striker were best signings of the year, 675K Portuguese RB got worst.

Cuneo topscorer: Big Cloggie Striker (13)
Cuneo fans POTY: Italian Playmaker

You probably already guessed what the cups did.

Cuneo (Serie C1B) 2010-2011

media: 13th (out of 18)
board: battle bravely against relegation
fans: stay clear of relegation

transfer budget: 964K euro
transfers in: 10 (350K)
transfers out: 14 (725K)

Last year's worst signing went to Perugia for 700K (profit :cool. Bought some players for positions that lacked quality, in january I finally had an adequate player for both full-back positions.

The season went well, I competed for first place around november an again around februari, but some aquaplaning in between and after ensured we dropped out of the race. Ended in fifth place, the last play-off spot.

Gallipoli were nowhere in the home leg of the semi-final, we dominated them completely and won 2-0. We kept the away game very closed and eventually lost from a goal in the ninety-second minute.
The home leg of the final was an easy game, but the return saw us swallow two thirthy-yarders and a stupid penalty. Gutted.

P34 W17 D5 L12 F53 A36 GD+17 Pts56 (pos. 5th)

play-off semi: vs Gallipoli: 2-0 1-0
play-off final: vs Frosinone: 2-0 3-0

Italian Playmaker was Serie C1B player of the year, him, Swiss Keeper, Big Cloggie Striker and Solid Rock Defender were elected in the Team of the Year, I got third in manager of the year.

Cuneo topscorer: Big Cloggie Striker (14)
Cuneo fans POTY: Big Cloggie Striker

The cups, well, we weren't selected for the Coppa d'Italia and stranded in the Serie Cr Cup group stage again. (big fat hairy arse yet again)
