Just wanted to say hello, I've missed you lot the past few months- I'll drop back into the hut sharpish like . Had some major personal changes in life, not to mention a period of ddep depression over the canceeling of the EHM series . I am glad to be back at the FM. I am really enjoying 07 so far.
One thing I wondered, and this is probably a GQ deal really (I just dont care to post there), about regarding youth facilities. Does that matter for you U18 team in terms of training or does it apply only to the "academy" players in determining how good they are when they get promoted to the u18s?
The interest on that fiver makes it, what about a tenner now? Thanks for the youth team thing- I had my board finally upgrade the both the yute and regular facilites at the same time, so I was thinking about how to tell what was doing what to whom, or something like that.
The standard of regens my team has been getting has steadily (if unremarkably) improved over the years I've been there.
Since we've only had one upgrade in all that time - during the close season just past - I'm tempted to agree with Ian that it's more likely to be reputation that affects how good the sprogs are.
Depending on what age the country you're managing in allows you to offer players professional contracts - Brazil is 16, I think; France 18 - that'll give you some idea of how much money it's worth throwing at the facilities.
Interesting if its more down to rep than facilities, though I guess it would makes sense if it is a combination of both. If the rep goes up the standard of recruits to the academy should be higher, then the training they get once there should be better as well. I'll watch it play out and see if the academy class of the next couple years is an improvement, as the team rep is still local.
