OK Frank sent me off to Barrow. No problem I think, until I realise their nickname is The Bluebirds. Cardiff springs to mind. Frank is obviously having a laugh. Consider just picking someone else, but I can rise above it.
Actually based on the career so far I'm more likely to sink below it...
Took a good look at squad and whereas it looks quite reasonable thought I could bolster the squad with experienced (ie past-it) players and some promising looking young(ish) players. Unbeaten for the first 11 games, I really wondered if this years version had been dumbed down especially with the scouts going into hyperdrive. Then a really bad run kicked in (not an aquaplane of course as they are a thing of myth of legend) and my ass was firmly put into place. Still, never dropped out of the playoff zone until the very last bloody game of the season

Quietly optimistic about the following season, players will have had time to gel after what has been a season full of changes, and don't plan on many (if any) signings. Especially as my chairman is strict about the wage structure.
Did I say quietly optimistic? Optimism is BAD. Very disappointing season indeed, lots of injuries and suspensions abound (to the point where I wonder if the patch worked). Apart from main forward the rest of the team forget how to score, and whereas last season I would win a game 3-2, this time around I'm losing 2-1. Attendances are dropping, so losing money, and not too much interest in any of my players.

Fans Player of Season - Free Scoring Forward who this season became clubs all-time top scorer. BTW like the fact that in this version the REAL all time appearances/goalscorers records are in place and not just for players still in the game. Nice touch that, never understood why it wasn't always the place.

No money or wage budget at beginning of season, with the aid of some nifty wheeling and dealing, I manage to knock another couple of places off last seasons finishing position. Club is going further into the red, but amazingly the chairman and fans alike all seem to think I'm doing a good job and are fully behind me!! THE FOOLS!!! I'm going to ruin your club can't you see that???? Ah well...... At least we're scoring again.

Fans Player of Season - Free Scoring Forward yet again. Fair play he keeps signing an extension to his contract and doesn't ask for much at all. Always near top of scoring charts, too good for this division. Can I adopt him?

With chairman and fans alike both expecting us to fight bravely agains relegation (ie we're going down) things don't look good. When I enter the season with both of my first choice forwards out until Christmas things don't look any better. Feel like jacking it in as I see the team start averagely and slowly get worse. Forwards come back but still get odd niggly injuries due to some slave-driving bastard of a manager trying to rush them back. Look like certs for relegation, but then have a sudden epithany. For too long I've been twiddling with this tactic and that tactic trying to stop the halt, when what I should have been doing is play like I did when we were so close to the play-offs. So revert to 3/4 football (strive for total football but hell this IS Barrow). Lose only 1 of the last 10 matches, and escape relegation with 1 game to go. To make it sweeter still in that penultimate match of the season I beat Workington (fierce rivals) 3-0, sending them down in the process! Sweet as their manager had been mouthing off in the press beforehand.

As daft as it sounds I'm looking forward to next season. The team have really come together (no new signing does that) and as the ass man said are "willing to die for each other". Squad have fair bit of actual football experience rather than "life experience" (ie they're not drinking Horlicks, eating Werthers Originals and talking about the war on the team coach anymore) and results at the end of the season were promising. Here's hoping
Shoot just realised what happened the last time I was optimistic.

Pangaea, give him a chance. He does have a history of posting in the forbidden places, but his post in here hasn't come before any others in said places. He might 'have seen the light' so to speak.
Or he might not as well. We'll see in the next couple of days...
