Default Their Nickname is WHAT???

OK Frank sent me off to Barrow. No problem I think, until I realise their nickname is The Bluebirds. Cardiff springs to mind. Frank is obviously having a laugh. Consider just picking someone else, but I can rise above it.

Actually based on the career so far I'm more likely to sink below it...

England,Scotland and Wales being played BTW

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2006 - 2007 Barrow (English Conference North)

Media Prediction - 11th

Took a good look at squad and whereas it looks quite reasonable thought I could bolster the squad with experienced (ie past-it) players and some promising looking young(ish) players. Unbeaten for the first 11 games, I really wondered if this years version had been dumbed down especially with the scouts going into hyperdrive. Then a really bad run kicked in (not an aquaplane of course as they are a thing of myth of legend) and my ass was firmly put into place. Still, never dropped out of the playoff zone until the very last bloody game of the season

Final Position - 6th P42 W18 D9 L15 F73 A69 PTS63 - Lost out playoff spot by ONE measly goal.
FA Cup - 2nd QR
FA Trophy - 3rd QR
Av attendance - 1075

Value of Club (End of Season) - £200K
Squad Average Age - 26
Players In - 25 (£2k)
Players Out - 1 (£0)

Fans Player Of Season - Free Scoring Forward who topped the scoring chart.

Premiership - Chelsea
FA Cup - Charlton
League Cup - Arsenal
JP Trophy - Millwall
FA Trophy - Morecambe
Community Shield - Chelsea

Scottish Premier - Rangers
Scottish Cup - Motherwell
League Cup - Hearts
Challenge Cup - Morton

Welsh Premier - Rhyl
Welsh Cup - Aberystwyth
FAW Premier Cup - Cardiff
Welsh Challenge Cup - Aberystwth

Champions Cup - Man. Utd
EURO Cup - Feyenoord
European Super Cup - Barcelona

Quietly optimistic about the following season, players will have had time to gel after what has been a season full of changes, and don't plan on many (if any) signings. Especially as my chairman is strict about the wage structure.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2007 - 2008 Barrow (English Conference North)

Media Prediction - 6th

Did I say quietly optimistic? Optimism is BAD. Very disappointing season indeed, lots of injuries and suspensions abound (to the point where I wonder if the patch worked). Apart from main forward the rest of the team forget how to score, and whereas last season I would win a game 3-2, this time around I'm losing 2-1. Attendances are dropping, so losing money, and not too much interest in any of my players.

Final Position - 13th P42 W14 D11 L17 F49 A68 PTS53
FA Cup - 2nd QR
FA Trophy - 2nd QR
Av. Attendance - 837

Value Of Club - £200K
Squad Average Age - 24
Players in - 2 (£0)
Players Out - 6 (£1K)

Fans Player of Season - Free Scoring Forward who this season became clubs all-time top scorer. BTW like the fact that in this version the REAL all time appearances/goalscorers records are in place and not just for players still in the game. Nice touch that, never understood why it wasn't always the place.

Premiership - Liverpool
FA Cup - Bolton
League Cup - Everton
JPT - Bournemouth
FA Trophy - Dagenham & Redbridge
Community Shield - Chelsea

Scottish Premiership - Celtic
Scottish Cup - Celtic
League Cup - Rangers
Challenge Cup - Ross County

Welsh Premiership - Llanelli
Welsh Cup - Llanelli
FAW Premier Cup - Swansea
Welsh Challenge Cup - TNS

Champions Cup - Man. Utd
EURO Cup - Paris
European Super Cup - Man. Utd

European Championships - Italy

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2008 - 2009 Barrow (English Conference North)

Media Prediction - 12th

No money or wage budget at beginning of season, with the aid of some nifty wheeling and dealing, I manage to knock another couple of places off last seasons finishing position. Club is going further into the red, but amazingly the chairman and fans alike all seem to think I'm doing a good job and are fully behind me!! THE FOOLS!!! I'm going to ruin your club can't you see that???? Ah well...... At least we're scoring again.

Final Position - 15th P42 W13 D12 L17 F71 A78 PTS51
FA CUP - 2nd QR
FA Trophy - 2nd QR
Av Attendance 836 (One less than last season - bad news I'm afraid. You know the old "one man who brings his dog" stories about badly supported teams? Well the old man died. The dog still comes though..)

Value of Club - £200K (obviously doesn't take debt into account)
Squad Average Age - 25
Players In - 4 (£4K)
Players Out - 11 (£4K)

Fans Player of Season - Free Scoring Forward yet again. Fair play he keeps signing an extension to his contract and doesn't ask for much at all. Always near top of scoring charts, too good for this division. Can I adopt him?

Premiership - Man. Utd
FA Cup - Chelsea
League Cup - Man. Utd
JPT - Stoke
FA Trophy - Aldershot
Community Shield - Liverpool

Scottish Premiership - Celtic
Scottish Cup - Hibernian
League Cup - Celtic
Challenge Cup - Albion Rovers

Welsh Premiership - Llanelli
Welsh Cup - Caersws
FAW Cup - Cardiff
Welsh Challenge Cup - Port Talbot

Champions Cup - Liverpool
EURO Cup - Porto
European Super Cup - Paris

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2009 - 2010 Barrow (English Conference North)

Media Prediction - 17th

With chairman and fans alike both expecting us to fight bravely agains relegation (ie we're going down) things don't look good. When I enter the season with both of my first choice forwards out until Christmas things don't look any better. Feel like jacking it in as I see the team start averagely and slowly get worse. Forwards come back but still get odd niggly injuries due to some slave-driving bastard of a manager trying to rush them back. Look like certs for relegation, but then have a sudden epithany. For too long I've been twiddling with this tactic and that tactic trying to stop the halt, when what I should have been doing is play like I did when we were so close to the play-offs. So revert to 3/4 football (strive for total football but hell this IS Barrow). Lose only 1 of the last 10 matches, and escape relegation with 1 game to go. To make it sweeter still in that penultimate match of the season I beat Workington (fierce rivals) 3-0, sending them down in the process! Sweet as their manager had been mouthing off in the press beforehand.

Final Position - 17th P42 W12 D8 L22 F45 A56 PTS44

FA Cup - 2nd QR
FA Trophy - 2nd QR (In four seasons I've only ever won 1 cup match - truely they suck ass)
Av Attendance - 851 (the dog had puppies)

Value of Club - £200K
Squad Average Age - 26
Players In - 0
Players Out - 8 (£0K)

Fans Player Of Season - Versatile L/R Full Back come MC

Premiership - Arsenal
FA Cup - Arsenal
League Cup - Chelsea
JPT - Stoke
FA Trophy - Cambridge
Community Shield - Chelsea

Scottish Premiership - Rangers
Scottish Cup - Rangers
League Cup - Inverness Caledonian Thistle
Challenge Cup - Stirling

Welsh Premiership - Aberystwyth
Welsh Cup - Rhyl
FAW Cup - Cardiff
Welsh Challenge Cup - Aberystwyth

Champions Cup - Inter
EURO Cup - Milan
European Super Cup - Liverpool

World Cup - England - Great match here with England beating Portugal 6-3 and both Shrek and actor from Platoon/Tottenham forward scoring hattricks!! Yay on the unbiased realistic international front SI....

As daft as it sounds I'm looking forward to next season. The team have really come together (no new signing does that) and as the ass man said are "willing to die for each other". Squad have fair bit of actual football experience rather than "life experience" (ie they're not drinking Horlicks, eating Werthers Originals and talking about the war on the team coach anymore) and results at the end of the season were promising. Here's hoping

Shoot just realised what happened the last time I was optimistic.

Relegation here we come...

Rest assured I have my eye on you.

Pangaea, give him a chance. He does have a history of posting in the forbidden places, but his post in here hasn't come before any others in said places. He might 'have seen the light' so to speak.

Or he might not as well. We'll see in the next couple of days...

He has posted regularly in the Spawn's forum, and the other haunted places. I have no belief he is LLaMa material.

But we'll see.
