Starting build: 7.0.1
Database: Large
Playable Leagues: Wales, England (to conf regionals), Scotland (to Div 3)
Other Leagues: Italy (Serie C up), Spain (2DB up)

2006/7
I always start off in the English regionals and never end up managing in Wales, despite having it as an active league, so this time I started there.

So, I took the helm at Cwmbran. First ever League of Wales Champions, but only still in the division because no-one wanted to be promoted to take their place for this season. Can only scout Wales, and cancelled our relationship as a feeder club to Cwmbran Celtic. Everyone expects us to finish 17th.

A decent start in the league, followed by a horrendous middle and a reasonable finish sees us finish:

P32 W12 D5 L15 F46 A53 Pts 41 Pos 9th

Llanelli win the league. Not surprising as they and TNS are the only professional clubs and were loaning players from the Championship and EPL.

Welsh Cup: R3 v Dinas Powys (H) 2-4. Connah's Quay win
Welsh Challenge Cup: Semis v TNS. 0-2 (A) 2-3 (H). Llanelli win.
FAW Premier Cup. N/A. Cardiff win

Rated as overachievers of the year \o/

2007/8
Stupid board sign me up as a feeder to Carlisle and I can't cancel it for a year.

Still can only scout Wales, so have to rely on news reports from practically every other WPL side to trial Englishmen with a view to signing.

A decent season in the league:

P34 W16 D10 L8 F47 A28 Pts 58 Pos 2nd.

Llanelli win the league.

Welsh Cup: R3 v RTB Ebbw Vale (H) 3-4. TNS win
Welsh Challenge Cup: R1 v Rhyl. 0-2 (A) 1-1 (H). Llanelli win.
FAW Premier Cup: R1 v Airbus (A) 0-3. Swansea win

Lose over £100k for the second season in a row. Qualify for the UEFA though.

2008/9 (A.K.A. I hate Llanelli)
Cancel relationship with Carlisle. Still can only scout Wales.

Progress in the league (though not in the positional sense):

P34 W20 D9 L5 F55 A29 Pts 69 Pos 2nd

Llanelli win the league.

Welsh Cup: Final v Llanelli. 1-1 Llanelli win on penalties
Welsh Challenge Cup: Quarters v Llanelli. 1-2 (A) 0-3 (H). Aberystwyth win.
FAW Premier Cup: Quarters v Llanelli (H). 1-2. Swansea win

UEFA Cup. Thank goodness I couldn't play Llanelli in this one!
1st Qual Rd v Zimbru (Moldova): 2-3 (A) 1-1 (H)

Almost broke even over the course of the season \o/

Best is such a subjective term when you're a part-time club in the League of Wales.
