Having never even looked in this forum before last night, I was surprised at the quirks of LLM. I was compelled by your hard luck stories and stories of play-off promotion etc.
I dedcided that I would do some LLM.
Frank gave me Raon-l'Etape (Raonnaise- The Stage) in the French national. I had never managed in france and I was excited at the new challenge.
My first 'task' was to find myself a 'Main Striker', a reserve keeper, and a new central midfielder.
My reserve keeper was easily found, a 19 year old Frenchmen, looks very promising, and he was wanted by Lorient in Ligue 1, as well as Yzeurienne. Instead, he chose to sign for me.
I was told by my Ass Man about a huge influx of young players. Looking through them, I decided that two would become first team regulars in about a year. I put one or two up for loan so they could gain some First-team football.
I agreed to sell one of my keepers for €12k, as they did not figure in my plans. I also agreed to a loan deal for one of my youth players.
Ryu2999- I know what you mean. I also realised that you must have done three seasons before making an update thread?
Anyway, US Raonnaise's pre season began with a close 2-0 defeat to German part-timers RC Mechelen. I was pleased despite the result, as we dominated in possesion, yet lacked a final touch.
I forgot to mention my rather generous budget of €28k that was of course boosted by the sale of my uneeded keeper. I intended to only spend half of it at most, in case I needed the rest for the January. I also terminated the contracts of two players, who were not needed and unhappy.
Following a rival teams €180k purchase of a Brazilian, I realised that my budget was, in fact very modest. I found (through prior knowledge of him) myself a commanding MC who could also be a stand in DC.
