Season 2011
Still no transfer budget due to serious financial problems, and I didn't feel any need to add to teh squad given the way the side were playing at the end of last season. Three players left on free transfers.
With both the board and fans expecting a top-half finish, I encountered a new experience to my Sparvagen carreer, pressure. I was also expected to come 4th by the media.
Final position: 3rd - - 46 points (8 off the top, 28 off the bottom)
Top goalscorer: Young superstar striker - - 17 (in 26, although he somewhat ran out of goals in the second half of the season, having scored 16 in his first 14 of the term)
My player of the year: Club captain right back, who at the end of this season, at only the tender age of 21, has made 7 Sweden Under-21 appearances, and has appeared in 132 games for the club.
Despite the facts, my side was infinately stronger than last season, mainly due to every member of the first team being on full-time contracts, and a brilliant set of back room staff. The season was ruined by injuries. My talismanic AMC (coveted by many clubs in the Premier Division), didn't play a game all year after a 7 month injury, and before the rest of the side were hit, we were top of the league by 3 points. The only players in the side to play more than 20 games in the season were my captain (who will miss the first five games of next term through suspension), and my top-goalscorer. This put a huge dampener on the season, and saw us slip to within one point of the play-offs. Huge disappointment, but hopefully luck will be on our side in 2012!!
