So I started unemployed, and mid December this Serie B club whose nmae starts with V but I can't remember right now hired me. Vicenza I think. Anyway, the club was really shitty. They didn't seem to own any good players, yet were 12,000 pounds over budget. A real mess. The worst thing about the club was that they had only 2 senior strikers - in a playing staff of 68 (36 youth). With almost no transfer budget I sent my scout to find something that could run about upfront. With about a week remaining scout returns with some options, but they are all too expensive except one bloke, who actually seems quite good. And he's out of contract. Wants 2700 a week, I offer him 2000 and he signs. Immediately!!! I was estatic. Next game comes around, and when I submity me team they say new striker is suspended. Upon further inspection the bloke is suspended for the entire year - a 'Global Ban'. I've never felt so useless as a manager before. I know you guys wouldn't make a mistake like that, but I thought you might enjoy hearing about my unbelievable uselessness.

To think I thought having to pay a guy to sit on his arse for 6 months after forgetting to send him to a feeder club while awaiting a work permit was bad.

Thank-you for sharing your pain, it has made me feel a whole lot better.

10 games further on, the fans are still waiting on our new player to play some games before commenting on my performance in the transfer market....

If I were the board I'd have sacked me for that!
