Which patch shall I use? My graphics card in my gaming PC died earlier and the motherboard has no on-board graphics, so I'm using my old PC. And I have to install a patch again. Is the 8.01 the best patch? I don't like the shot/goal ratio with it, but I don't like the closing down bug in the beta patches..which is the best patch in your opinion? Cheers

Speaking as someone who went back to the Beta's despite being very happy with '08 overall, I'd say get on with 801.

I've damn near trashed my keyboard, mouse, coffee mug, desk, and monitor over the last couple of days, but having been patient am now scoring well, enjoiyng the challenge, and regretting going back to the beta patches.

Only minor annoyance is the games insistence on injuring the same player every time he touches the ball, and booking my DMC & MC 'off-highlight' in every bloody game, but hey, I'll get over it, the team are.

Honestly 801 is tough in light of some small failings, but there are so many other things that work better.

Both myself and a mate from here CarlosSanchez have both worked our way to decent match winning tactics on 801.

Have a look at Amaroq's and Cleons threads in the tactics area, they've got some great insights to share, especially since neither purports to have a fit-all uber tactic but rather a lot of ideas on ow to make your own tactic to suit your own teams strengths and weaknesses.
