Default Forward Runs!

I've been baffled by this question for about 10 years now . . .

Is there a difference between:-

"Make Forward Runs" - ie selecting this option from a player's instructions,

and:-

"Run Forward" - ie dragging out a forward run on the formation screen?

Do you ideally need to select both, or just one or the other?

Someone please put me out of my misery.

Do you mean the arrows?

If so, then farrows are where your players will be when you have the ball and barrows where they will be of opposing team has ball.

Make forward runs means that the player will go forward and attack as much as possible.

They are similar but there is a slight difference.

But . . .

What's the difference then between a (forward-arrow) and the "make forward runs" player instruction?

I'm so confused . . .

Forward Runs (instruction): i want you to get forward whenever possible

Forward Runs (arrow): when the team is in possession of the ball, I want you to take up this position

Ok, forward runs (instruction)= a very aggressive attacking position.

Thanks, I think I understand.

I was going to ask a question about "Mentality" as well, but I'll leave that one for another day.

Think of mentality as "how deep or advanced a player will position himself".

forward runs changes his position, from MC to AMC for example.

Giving him an attacking mentality makes him play further forward as an MC but without taking up the AMC position.
