When players have six months left on their contract?
Has there been a rule change involving six months left on the players contract. Every time I try sign some one with six months left on their contract, it will only let me approach some of them. Is there a rule etc?

I think the rule is that you can only approach to sign players in the same league as you when they're down to the last month of their contract. This is how it works in the English leagues anyway and might actually be that you can't approach to sign anyone in any of the professional English leagues if you're an English club until they've only got a month left.
Anyone from another country you can approach when they've got 6 months left.

I think it depends in which league they are..I remember that once I wanted to pre-sign a slovakian player 4 months before his contract expired but I wasn't allowed to do so..

It is pretty much as chopper said... at the start of last season a clause was inserted in the Premier League and Football League terms and conditions which stated that a club cannot approach a player playing for another club within England until the player is in the last 6 weeks of his contract, or the last weekend in May, whichever is later. However I'm not sure if this also exists in other countries; it does appear to in the game.
