Default Becoming Manager of a bigger club...

I'm currently managing Anderlecht.
I'm about to go into my 5th season.
I've been doing extremely well there,
and I actually won the Champions League and
won the domestic league every single time (which isn't difficult though).

I'm also in my last year, and I want to go to a bigger club.

Now how do I do that, I mean, if I reject a proposal from Anderlecht, will I get loads of
proposals of big clubs, or do I wait till I see
a job on the job market at a big club which is unstable?

Thanks.

It depends if there's anything available. The main risk is upsetting Anderlecht when you make the intention of moving to a bigger club.

If any bigger club wanted you by now, they might have already offered (this has happened a few times in my case), so it may be worthwhile applying for jobs rather than expect teams to come to you.

You'll notice you're a big shot when clubs approach you while you're still under contract without you asking for the job.

The Champions League should have brought you some international fame. What is your reputation level? If it's not at least "Continental" you will probably struggle to get offers from top-league clubs abroad, though you might get offered a tough nut like a struggling relegation candidate.

If you can't get a decent top-league job then join a second-league side abroad and build up some local experience and you'll stand a better shot at getting job offers.

'course, the easiest way to find out is to save your game, let your contract run out (or quit) and just go on holiday with the "return for succesful application" option on.

One big tip for the job market: try to be available at the end of the season when contracts expire, you can get jobs in the middle of the season but those will be from sacked managers and that means struggling clubs that may be hard to turn around.

Also, before you accept a job look at the finances. If they're "insecure" you're going to have no transfer money and no wage budget, and the club may be close to receivership. Those jobs are painful!
