I'm not an Arsenal fan by no means but I really enjoyed watching Robert Pires play. In my opinion, he was and still is a brilliant player. He will be sadly missed in the Premiership!

Arsene Wenger has emerged as an outside bet to take the Real Madrid job after one of the candidates in the presidential elections revealed that the Arsenal boss was his first choice.

The Spanish giants are looking for a top coach to restore success to the Bernabeu following Juan Ramon Lopez Caro's exit, and several names have been bandied about in the run-up to the presidential elections set for July 2.

The chances of Sven Goran Eriksson taking the helm appear to be deteriorating, but Michael Laudrup is a firm favourite with several influential figures at the club and Fabio Capello has held talks with Ramon Calderon, one of those in the running for presidency.

However, former world rally champion Carlos Sainz, who is hoping to seize control of the club along with Juan Miguel Villar Mir, would prefer to see Wenger in charge at Real.

He confirmed that he was already seeking talks with Wenger, who enhanced his reputation further last season by guiding his youthful Gunners team to the final of the UEFA Champions League.

"We are in the process of trying to do that," Sainz declared.

"We want a complete overhaul of the club.

"We need to secure a general manager and a coach first who will be at the heart of the club."
The spanish cunts don't get the message. Every fucking season they come for our player/manager....

It's all for the election Niz, they tried it with Vieira and looked and what happened They bribe the public with a top Manager or Player so it persuades them. I have real doubt's Wenger will leave Arsenal, he has too much pride and loyalty

Hmm about Paddy coming back........I wouldn't mind him coming back but I really hope he realizes that he isn't the same player and will NOT get a starting spot.

Reports in Spain claim that Arsenal, and another unnamed Premiership club, are chasing Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna.

The 29-year-old hails from Brazil, but will be representing Spain at this summer's World Cup finals having secured citizenship earlier in the season.

A defensive midfielder by trade, Senna has emerged as an integral piece in Villarreal's rise and rise over the past couple of seasons.

He played against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals this year and was arguably his side's outstanding performer in the first leg at Highbury.

His display quite clearly caught the eye of Arsene Wenger who is looking to strengthen his emerging young squad this summer.

However, he will face strong competition for the former Corinthians man with another English top-flight side and Real Madrid also interested in securing his services.

Senna, who has one year left on his Villarreal contract, has resolved to postpone any decision on his future until after this summer's world Cup finals.

A strong showing from the player could well increase his bargaining power with Villarreal desperate to tie him down to a new contract.

However, the lure of joining the likes of Real or Arsenal could well see him depart later in the summer.
Never heard of him, we really don't need Midfielders though
