i dont know if it will help as i play with Chelsea
(huge Chelsea fan, my daughter is named Chelsea, not playing them for easy mode)
I play a 4-1-3-2 system, i wont the premierleague and the champions league in my 1st season.
I lost 2 games and drew 5 in the EPL if i remember correct. I only conceded 18 goals i believe and was top scorer.
The way i did it, was mainly to play AGAINST the AI's faults.
The game atm struggles with closing down, so u need to fix that, and AMC (attacking midfielders) are fairly overpowered. So you need one.
You also need a little width to open the defence. However if u play a lone striker, it becomes hard to score and your AMC ends up pushing to far forward and loses his usefullness.
SO
I play the following.
GK - normal settings
LB - He plays fairly defensively and is mainly there to keep 3 men back at most times, occasionaly helps with width.
CB - Defensive
CB - Defensive
RB - has a forward arrow to RWB and told to get forward often and cross the ball.
The idea of the RB is to add a little width on the right by bombarding all the time, lower his closing down so he gets into defesive position more often though and rely on your midfield to help.
This RB is the only weak spot in the defence.
MC Left side of MC- Set to defensive and no forward runs, Back arrow to DMC position, he anchors the defence and protects the backline, but helps in midfield.
MC Right side of MC - more attacking, told to get forward at every chance.
AMC - with back arrow to the vacant left MC (who drops to DMC) he is forward runs Mixed and hold up ball. the idea is to give the ball to him, pull a defender in if possible, open up a bass to striker, and give the MC (forward runs often) player time to get forward and split to AI Defence.
LM - arrow to AML. Creates width on the left to draw defense line out, supplies some crosses, doesnt get the ball a ton.
SC - left side, the out and out striker, set to score goals.
SC - right side, more defensive of them, he drops into midfield a little with the AMC or MC overlapping him at times.
This tends to pull the AI defence apart and at the same time stacks your defence with players that break forward.
I tend to play a High Defensive line with attacking players, Mixed passing and fairly quick tempo, with medium width.
