As with last season, when the opposition move to a 4-2-4 I might as well just tell my goalkeeper to put the ball into his own net, because the goal IS coming.
I'm currently playing a standard 4-4-2 with a midfield of two wingers an attacking midfielder and a defensive one (So I can switch to a diamond if I want to)
As soon as they move to the 4-2-4, I've tried subbing the attacking midfielder for a sweeper and for a defensive midfielder.
I've slammed the timewasting up high and asked the strikers to hold up the ball, but the equaliser always comes.
First: Why does this tactic seem to work so universally for the opposition but when I try it, nothing happens.
Second: Why should you have to drastically alter your tactics every game jst to cling depserately on to a one or two goal lead.
This is one of the most annoying parts of this game. If i'm only 1 goal in front with 10 minutes to go, no matter how much of the game i've controlled up to then, an opposition change to 4-2-4 and a goal, every time.
Set your FBs to stop making their FWR, RWB, TTB, LShot off (all to Rarely). set your ML/R to man mark and bump their closing down. Tick CA on if you haven't done so. If you have a DM, hard tackle, high closing down him with Hold the ball if he is capable.
