With the beta patch out FM 08 seems like it will be the best one yet, but I'm also finding it the hardest. After playing several games on the demo and full game before restarting, I've started a new one with Newcastle. About 10 games in and i'm only 15th, can't seem to string results together at all, and getting crazy results like losing 6-2 to Birmingham, and in the middle of a hammering to Sunderland. I've tried more defensive tactics but still leak goals...
anyone else finding it tough?

Like the patch and all it's additions but has made the game harder for me.
I play NUFC and the old tweaked T&T tactics worked fine. Post-patch games appear much more difficult. Off to tactics and training section to see if I can get some advice.
Just testing various tactics but trying to stick to 442 (don't like all those odd formations that peeps throw up)
10 games into my season now with Middlesbrough. I set up the RoO tactics (I think it's Groobens thread that explains it all). I've used RoO before and had success but this is something very, very different.
In 60% of games I'm beating teams on possession, shots, shots on target, completion percentages etc. but losing - and not just losing but getting absolutely thrashed. I lost 4-1 to Derby at home after murdering them (statistically speaking anyway!!), they had 6 shots on target to my 13. Similar story against Liverpool, in terms of the Match Stats I more than held my own - yet they had 6 shots on target and scored 5 goals1?
I have to say I'm pretty bewildered by it all but give it a bit of time and playing around and we'll get there - just damn frustrating now when everything (theoretically anyway) appears to be working!!!
