for reference I'm using 801, but will probably go back to Beta 1 or 2.
I'm in L1 and made an effort to bring together very capable defenders, especially wityh regards to speed, defending skills and mental attributes. Still I've noticed, that they start out too late to be able to catch up with the attacking striker (in the centre and on flanks). Often they don't close strikers (if he's one striker, he's somewhere between the 2 CDs).
I play 4 people in the back, low or high def line, the back four closes down low (perhaps that's the reason for not closing). And my guys are often faster than those, who they lose out to (I understand they are facing different directions with strikers, but nevertheless).
