I still play FM07, as i'm of the opinion spending money on FM08 would be futile until it's fixed.
I usually struggle on FM07, until i read the Tactics Bible. What a wealth of imformation it is. I tried implementing some of the tips, and succeeded in disrupting my side. wwfan has a extremely in depth view of the game, which is admirable, while Cleon is very analytical, adapting to the oppositions weaknesses.
I read the Sheffield United project, and amazed by Cleon's success, adapted his outlook. I know understand when the opposition go attacking, to counter attack quickly and directly, which get's me chances. I'm Liverpool btw. I've now realised i'm Liverpool, with top class players, so shouldn't be using a system that excels for Sheffied United.
So i'm looking for advice. What do i do when defending a lead? My dream is to keep consistant clean sheets (which i value more than high scoring wins), although i won the Premiership and got to the CL final (lost to Barca on penalties) in the first season, i didn't dominate the league. Now second season in, i've improved my side, yet cannotquite grasp the tactics to play like champions and so dominate.
I'm getting there, after a very long time, but the cues that should make think change tactics only happen when i know the opponents are attacking heavily. I'm flying in the dark at other times.
