I just cant get my head around tactics so i thought i would use the pre-setup ones with the players.
It set up defence with mentality of ultra defence, it set up midfield centres with normal mentality, wingers with attacking mentality and strikers with more attacking mentality.
There was about 4/5 differance in mentality from defence to midfield and midfield to strikers.
But after reading through the threads, people seem to think that mentality should only be 1/2 apart for whole of the team????
Do you only have 1/2 differance in mentality or go like AI and have 4/5 mentality????
Also i have been playing fm08 with ultra defence for all players when playing away with direct quick passing and counter attack and mentality of all players the same and i have lost my first 3 games.
Thats because ultra defence = NO attack! This is bad because no team in the world can attempt to defend non stop for 90 mins.
If you want to play very cautiously, go from the middle of the slider to either the last norch of mixed or the first notch of defensive. You can still use direct and quick and CA if you want, this just means you will defend until a good oppourtunity presents itself then make a quick counter.
But ultra defensive is only to be used for maybe the last 5-15 mins of a match, when the AI goes 424 imho.
Also if you dont like the mentality gaps then make the gaps smaller manualy.
