He is 18 now....doing the damage for FC Bayern's U-19s.

When would be the best time? I don't want to do his morale any harm by chucking him in and seeing him getting 5/6 every game.

Thoughts?

im liverpool and just upped him into the reserves,heavier training schedule etc.he plays cup games for my first team though and does well.i think you should get him off the youth training and ease him in gently

I've got him in the Bayern U-19s as well. They haven't lost or drawn a game yet, with Saivet, Nsue and Weis playing up front, Toni Kroos and Tony Beer, Lauri Dalla Valle in midfield, Tuia and Breno on the backline with Joao Carlos in goal. They're screaming through the U-19 league!!
My plan is to keep him (and any of my other potential stars) in the U-19s till the end of the year, then move some to my feeder clubs or offer up for loans to bigger teams than my feeders.
I've been playing my U-19 stars in the Cup matches, the UEFA Cup games and once I'm near the end of the season and we have the title won, I'll start playing them sparingly for the first team.
Unless the player is of Messi-quality, I don't like my young players playing full-time in the Bundesliga until they're at least 21. That's just me, although I try to put them in games that we're way ahead, or don't matter much.
Just my way of playing them.....
