Default Work Permits and Feeder Clubs

Can anyone explain to me the ins and outs of how you sign a player without a permit to play for your team (EPL) and then loan him to your feeder club?

I've managed to sign a few players (including Thiago) without a permit to play for my team, but for some stupid reason I can't loan them to my Belgium feeder club, the team name is greyed out.
This leaves me in a pickle as they can't even play for my reserves or youth team.
Am I doing something wrong?

Cheers

Nothing that you're doing wrong I dont think. The reason you cant loan them out could be because:
1. For some reason, you are not allowed to freely send/take players on load to your feeder club. But since its one to avoid work permit regulations, I dont think this would be the case.

2. Their season hasnt started as yet and that's why the name is greyed out.

3. Their season is already started and the window in which they can sign/loan players has passed. Or indeed, your window to send players on loan has passed.

Your best bet is to offer your player on loan to different clubs and see if someone from Spain etc comes in with an offer to take him on loan. Else you're pretty much stuck until Jan when the transfer window reopens. The other thing you could do (although I dont think it's "legal") is use FMM and modify the players second nationality to any EU country.

Ah!! OFC
Transfer window is currently closed in my game.
Cheers for the info, such a relief lol.

Are there restrictions on the number of loan players they can have, like in most leagues? Or is it different with regards to feeder clubs?

Some clubs have limits. I could only send 7 players every season to one of my feeder clubs, but I sent over 20 to another feeder club.
