Aftetr years of managing top flight teasm & after buying new super fast pc I am looking to join the world on LLM.I do have one question on scouting players, as my new pc can handle 30+ leagues during summer breaks & no game week-ends after the inevitable early cup exit can I watch any game within geographical reality in the hope of finding an absoulte gem.
Example, Manage any conference south team, have a Saturday off & decide to take in a L2 or youth game in London is any player found having a blinder fair game.
Seen as I would be a manager who lives & breaths the game would also take summers hols in countries where league programme still running would the same apply.
Does happen IRL, just look at ex colchester strike recently moved to greece - spotted by accident - never heard of before.
Personally, I only use scouts to search for players, and possibly send a scout to look at a player I've played against, or one that's been in the news messages.
I'd be inclined to think of that as fairly realistic - within reason, of course. Watching a nearby team play on a day off should be fine, I'd think (and as far as I know happens a fair amount in reality), but taking off for a summer holiday in South America on your basement division wages of £150 a week would be wildly unrealistic and a real no-no.
Personally, I stick to the scouts, but your mileage may vary and all that jazz.
As there are over 60 different threads could you pioint me in the direction of the relavent one - if you now the title would be great so I can search for it. Thanks
In my defence we were at the time & current lofty status will no doubt end soon, I guess you've also never been to Layer Road a LLM ground if ever there was one.
The condition of the ground has nothing to do with LLM status.
Also, the player you are talking about was spotted by ACCIDENT as you said. It isn't part of the norm.
I also doubt Colchester's run will end as soon as you think. They have a decent squad assembled for a small cost.
As long as you limit watching those matches to maybe one or two a year, it would be within the bounds of realism. Watching more, then I wouldn't consider it realistic.
