Just been link in the media to an Irish keeper (currently managing Braintree), unable to scout player, could I offer a trial purely based on media story - Want tp take the LLM principles seriously. Thanks in advance

You don't need a mod for that.

It wouldn't be outside the realms of LLM.

I believe the LLM ethics would state that scouts would need to give a player the once-over first.

I doubt many managers IRL would give a trial to a player purely on a media story.

But then, once upon a time, a certain Southampton manager signed a player purely on the recommendation of someone pretending to be the current world player of the year.......

.....but then, most managers aren't that stupid.

Although if others agree that it's ok, then I might start it myself. My scouts are rubbish, and only go out for 2 weeks at a time.

I know Northern Ireland is a fairly small country, but that takes the mick a bit!

a No & a sort of no. As kev points out the moustached scotsman did sign a supposed cousin of a former world player of the year so IRL show it can happen if not that successfully & could start my career as the joke of the league....did you hear the one about........

Seriously still not sure & guidelines only mention were I can scout & that LLM almost exclusivley rely on their scouts.

Tenuos(sic) link time is this not similar to being approach by an agent even though feature not in game (yet)?

Yep. If you can't scout him, and he's willing to do a trial, then he's fair game.

Signing Players.

All players should be first scouted before signing for an LL Club. Send your scouts out to Regions or Nations using the SWYCT or SYB (Scout Your Borders) guidelines, and decide which of the recommendations you’ll sign. Once the financial situation of your Club is better, and the Club’s reputation is such as you’d be able to attract foreign players, send your scouts further afield, keeping it as realistic as possible.

The exceptions are loans, in which it’s acceptable to use the player/staff search using minimum filters (e.g. for loan, free)in an emergency. LLaMas believe that players that you loan in should be first discovered by your scouts. This is a personal preference used by the more zealous LLaMas. Again let your conscience be your guide

If you have no scouts it’s ok to use the player/staff search screen to identify players and to invite them for a trial period to ascertain whether they suit your squad.

Thanks for the rule check, this LLM is not nly an FM challenge but I think I should have listened more during my law of tort & contract lectures @ college.

Lets hope the guys half decent.

Quick cheeky update, 2 games in 1 win 1 loss, desperately seeking a mc playmaker scout is useless 5 week & has offered 7 30 something mc terriers....does he not listen

Consider yourself lucky. Both of my scouts have simply stopped recommending player altogether.
