I remember the old Crap Manager Forum had some good writers posting their exploits on the board. Some were so good that even after it was quietly stopped there was one post that must have been 200 entries (including the ohs! and HHS! from others) and it made exciting reading.
Being a bit of a journalist is clearly an advantage, which I don't have, but I think some of you lot would. I am sure it would fit in with rules because who would use any other title than ST, MC or AML to identify the players...?
I like the updates it is good to state your progress but it does not give any real sense of the drama behind it. Now I know this is drifting in your minds eye toward bragging, which by definition in here is eloquently described as "lying or cheating. Period." (sic)
I am interested in the drama of how some LLM perform with-in their divisions. Are you? Or are you a good enough journalist to write a blog with-in the rules of LLM?
Absolutely, as long as one didn't spill over onto the other.
I'm not sure that the FM Stories regulars would be happy with LLM names (like Strikey McScorer or Posh's bloke) and LLaMas wouldn't be happy with a compatriot using real names and formations elsewhere.
I'm sure a compromise could be reached, there's no reason why an update thread couldn't be padded out to a story.
Yeah, the tactics/player naming was what was concerning me. Obviously, if I did write one, it'd be for my own enjoyment and not for the purposes of tipping, etc.
Anyway, it's too late to convert my current Blyth save but I was looking more towards FM08.
At CMC, the updates I write are a LOT more detailed than I'd ever be able to get away with in here, but they also don't include any tactical information or player names. It can be done, but as Ian says, whether other users are interested in a story that doesn't have real names would be something you'd have to discover for yourself.
I write a blog of sorts with my Pro Cycling Manager game, but it's an entirely different set up. It wouldn't be possible to do a PCM update without naming your riders.
I would never do one with any of my Football Manager saves.
I'm not that bothered with using player names in story threads to be honest. The names you write down yourself don't mean anything to you, and the names in the other story threads are there anyway. I also think that Llama's should be mature enough to decide for themselves wether they want to post in other fora (except the Heathen Fora of course) and not to use the names they may stumble upon in their own saves.
