Apologies if this has been covered before but what are the guidelines for signing players that are offered to you by other clubs (either on loan or transfer)?

I assume you scout them as normal before making up your mind.

I've found that a) they're usually pysh, and b) that they won't sign anyway.

But yeh, scout 'em or trial 'em.

What's the type of players you'd offer to a club? Most likely it's deadwood and crap.

If you've scouted the player and still want him, go for it. If they want a decision before you know the player, you'd be stupid to agree.

I don't agree about deadwood thingy. On more than one occasion, I got offered players from top flight (whilst being in lowest league) for pennants. Now, they might be dead wood for top flight team, they sure are not for me. If my scout agrees, I have no problems signing such player.
