With older players retiring, I bought in a few talented youngsters to replace them, as my scouts could now find good people. I was a bit worried about my lack of firepower, but my young defence kept us towards the top of the table. Form dipped around Jan, so I signed two more frees with a bit of experience, and we picked up. In the end we weren't quite good enough to stay up top, and injuries to our star GK and AMR saw us finish 5th, although only 3 points from the playoff spot.
AMR won the Liga de Horna player of the year, GK was playing silly buggers over his contract, but eventually signed. Pretty good season, in all.

Eh, there's only the one playoff spot, so it's a big ask. I think the portugese hate promotion/relegation.

9 days after signing a new contract, my star GK tranfers out, along with one of my spanish U21 stars, a DCL, WbL. I had already brought in replacements, but the new defence took some time to gel, causing a horrible staart to the season. The form did turn around, and we steadily rose the table, despite staying around 7-10 point behind that elusive playoff spot. With 3 games to go we reached 2nd place, but failed to keep it, and dropepd to 4th. One place higher than last year, but less points, go figure.
Fans player of the year was the former fiaes AM/F C, now the club captain. My personal star was the other Spanish U21, an MC, who was thrown in the deep end when I sold my main MC in January.

Ive actually done this exact challenge before, I like their kit which is how I normally select teams in lower leagues. I had a few lucky breaks with some good signings that turned out to be very good and after aout 10 seasons was in champions league drawn in the same group and chelsea, lyon and barcelona. Id love to say I won but I got destroyed and sort of gave up. You've done well first season in Liga de Honra I always find 2nd divisions of countries are very even tight leagues and really hard to survive when youre promoted

Lots in, lots out. I'm very quickly becoming the manager of a selling club, but we're nearly out of debt, so it's all good. We won 8 of the first 10, but went downhill after that, as our strikers forgot how to score.
Young AML won fans player of the year, and Liga de Horna young player of the year. Younger DLC had the highest average rating in the league. Oh well, mayber next season.

In the spirit of llama pedantry, I should point out that it is the Liga de Honra not Horna. Other than that, here is a bog-standard KUTGW |

The kit is one of the things you're stuck with so of course I pick the teams by it. The players and leagues will change but the name and colours remain. Id never play with some teams due to their kit, I'm doing a multiplayer game in dutch leagues at the moment and playing against NEC the colours are so horrendous bright red and pastel green I could never play as them. A car has a bit more to it than that |
