I've had the occasional good result out of it, but since there's little/no benefit 75% of the time - regardless of how careful I try to be with match-ups - I just pick any old sod to be a mentor now.
When it works it's worth a smile or two, though.

I only rarely use that feature - when I have the feeling that people fit to each other, or when a player indicates that he thinks he can learn a lot of some other player.

So far, I haven't had a bad outcome.

I've had players say they don't see any point in being tutored by a particular player despite thinking they can learn a lot from them.
