Loans in: very ambitious keeper from Coventry for 3 months, set-piece specialist wing back from Stoke (3 months), decent keeper (again) from Bury for season and perfectly balanced GK from Bristol City for 3 months.

League: Shocking start, good middle, shocking end. Missed out on playoffs by a point. No doubt those self-sabotage-2-0-up-then-throw-it-away in last half an hour matches had somthing to do with that. (6th, P: 42 W: 19 D: 11 L: 12 Pts: 68.
FA Cup: Had to have a replay to beat Mossley in the 2nd qualifying round but eased past Horsham YMCA and Droylsden to face Swindon in the First Round. Despite a "stubbborn performance" the difference was their "quality of finishing" (in other words a 3-0 defeat).
FA Trophy: Hammered Northwich 6-2 in the 1st round, then beat Conference leaders Aldershot 2-0 after outplaying them in both matches, then beat York (4th in Conference) 5-0 away. So when midtable Rochdale came out the hat, I thought we had a chance. We lost 3-0.

League: Steady start, followed by club record 6 wins in a row took us to the top! Then it started to fall apart and we almost fell out of the playoffs but a 15 game unbeaten run took us back to the summit where we stayed from game 27. A 9 point lead was almost thown away in the last few matches but a nailbiting last day 0-0 against Worcester secured the title on goal difference!!! (1st, P: 42 W: 34 D: 12 L: 6 Pts: 84)
Cups: Shocking, but the league made up for it.
