I'm going to sound incredibly stupid, but, what does it mean if a player is grayed out? What are gray players?

They're normally easier to see if you go to your U18s or U19s, Ahmed. There you'll see players in bold...erm...white, they're the players you can do anything with (Steady! :eek: ) with regard to team selection, releasing, offering contracts, putting up to your reserves, etc. The guys in the duller...erm...grey colour are the greys.

They're there as filler, when you don't have a player or have too few guys in a position, then you can play them.

They're generally monkeys, though...but you can offer them a full-time contract if you wish.

While idly browsing through the greys in my squad(s), I spotted one who looked remarkably decent for a 15 year old.
An MRC with tackling of 17, long shots of 12, Influence and Determination of 14 & 15 repectively and only 4 attributes below 5 (all mental). I've given him a contract and I'm gonna keep an eye on him to see how he develops.
