After managing a few different clubs, I'm starting to notice that my in-game squads tend to be larger than their real-life equivalents - in the Conference, for example, it seems most squads have about 16-20 (non-youth) players, while I tend to have more.
Do you try to keep your squad size under realistic limits, or do you figure that whatever you can squeeze in your budget is fine?
If they can't all fit on the squad screen in one column without scrolling, it feels like I have too many. A match-day squad and a few backups feels better to me
I do the if I have to scroll I have too many players thing. I play fm windowed with it as small as possible so thats 25 players, 11 playing, 7 subs (in most leagues) gives me 7 injuries/suspensions/backups etc. I prefer it a little less so I can play the guys more and of course when you rise up the leagues you start to gain reserves, so long as you're within your means.
I sign players, that's my weakness, if they look good enough...i.e. have two legs (preferably) and breathing (even with an inhaler)...and the board allow me to sign them then sign them I do.
My Leigh squad just now is nestling on 61 players.
