I just won the Conference South, now the conference is impossible.

Conference South..

Good Game = 12 shots on goal
Bad Game = 3 shots on goal
Average Goals a Game = 2.6

Conference
Good Game = 2-3 shots on goal
Bad Game = 0 shots on goal
Average goals a game = 0.6

Now my squad isn't bad, in fact I improved it somewhat during the break. Am i just tactically incompetent or does everyone find the gap between conference North and South is very big?

I too hate the conference. Mind you im always thankful if i do get promoted as it doesnt happen very often..

I generally find the step up to Conference is quite big, and if you win the Conference you'll skip through League 2.

I only wish that was always the case, I walked the Conference last season but finding life in L2 very tough indeed.

On the original subject the step up to the Conference is a difficult one especially as there are number of full time clubs to compete against.

Aye, i tend to spend a couple of seasons in the Conference before i become an upper table team. I've only been promoted once in 4 tries... (coming from Con S or N)

Ive never found conference too hard, by far the biggest jump is when you reach Championship. Most the teams consider themselves premiership club that have just slipped down a little, huge step up from league 1.

I agree that apart from
League one -&gt; Championship

that conference south -&gt; conference is the hardest step up in class.

it took me 8 seasons to get promoted from the conference but then i was consistantly competing with other league two teams and with a couple of adjustments a quality signings you can get promoted quite easily.

Conference South took about 4 season to get out of

Conference National Took about 5 seasons to get out of.

We then spent a whopping 1, yes one season in League 2 to gain promotion through the playoffs.

I was expecting (in league 2) a seriously hard toil to survive relegation as I only got out of the conference national via the playoffs.

Anyway, I ignored the little voice in my head screaming 'AQUAPLANE!' and put it down to my managerial splendor!

Next season in League 1, We actually won our first league game. Since then we've won just one other and we're now 21 games into the season. We're rock bottom and my last result was a 1-6 thrashing at home by Millwall. I highlight this not as a low point, but to show the general trend of my recent matches.

I simply can't bring myself to load the damn game back up. When I get stomped that bad it puts me in a foul mood and I want to smash the laptop screen in.

This is seriously making me consider not buying FM08 when it comes out. Why would I want to put myself through another year of this?I know
