That is probably the most reasonable excuse Simon has ever given for not liking someone |

Thanks for the welcome. Should have added at the outset (if anyone cares) that I'm obviously a noob although despite what it says on my profile I've actually been registered on the site since 2000 or 2001. Usually been a reader rather than a poster though so have had my profile removed and had to recreate a couple of times.
Played some lower league previously and generally abided by the rules except in the past I've not relied solely on my scouts. Have to say that fully dedicating my play to LLM has rejeuvenated my interest in the game so much so that where in the past its been a mild irritant for my wife, now she's annoyed enough that I have to duck to avoid airborne foreign objects from time to time. |

Definitely obsessed. I can’t remember the last time I finished a season in under a week. After a strong finish to last season expectations were high coming into this season. No need to tweak much with the squad – brought in a strong target man to add another element to our strike force, two back-up keepers as last years back-up left, and my scout found a 17-year old talented DC who would prove a revelation when injuries pushed him into a starting role.

Injuries took their toll this season at times making it difficult to field a full squad. Our very strong starting keeper went down multiple times and only managed 15 appearances which resulted in many more goals scored than last year. Fortunately our offense was more potent and kept us in the race. We hung between 8th and 12th place until January hit. From January we got healthy and went on a stretch of 7 matches undefeated (including 6 wins) to grab 5th spot only to go on a streak of 5 matches without a win (4 losses) and drop back down the table. Fortunately we righted the ship and ran off 5 wins in a row and went into the final day of the season in 6th trailing 5th place Dorchester, who we would play away to close the season Unfortunately we trailed them in goal differential by 3. We started the match conservatively to make sure we did not give away a cheap early goal and try to them on the counter-attack. The plan backfired when a bad pass resulted in a 10th minute goal. We were forced to chase the match from thereon and managed to peg them back. However, the parked all 10 outfield players in front of the goal and defended effectively enough that we failed to score again. In the last 10 minutes of the match they took advantage of tired legs to score twice on counter-attack. We slipped to 7th, but 8 points better than last season. The fact that 72 points would have put us in 4th last year reflects how strong the competition was this season. However, with another strong finish confidence is high going into next year if we can avoid being plagued by injuries. Conference South

Hopes were high coming into the season as a young squad (average age of 22 as the press would later point out) kept getting better. However, it looked like promotion had to come this year or never for this group as the wage budget was at its limit and the top youngsters on the squad were demanding ever more money. Fortunately we were in it from the start. It quickly became clear that the top spot would be a three way race between us, Dag & Red and Newport Co. In January, following a loss to us, Dag & Red went through a rough patch and fell off the pace. On February 12th we moved into the top spot and would never move out. At last, after 3 seasons of toil we were headed for the Conference. The difference between this season and last was primarily down to our Keeper staying healthy. The goal scoring was pretty evenly spread around the squad with Creative Striker nabbing his 100th league goal for the club during the season. Onward we move with high hopes for avoiding a relegation battle given our performances against higher league teams in the cups this season.
