Season 1

Conference North

An excellent and exciting season. We hit some good for late on, and although we were never going to challenge for the title we came through a close group of teams to finish a comfortable fourth.

Breezing through the playoffs we were promoted into the National.

Season 2 - Conf Nat

After a couple of high quality additions, (a pretty good D/DM C who my scout had found and a new AM L) and removal of rubbish, I was fairly confident of avoiding relegation. All I will say is......

Season three - Conf North

The board wanted the title, the players wanted mid-table obscurity. I got sacked in early November without any warning at all. Ungreatful shower

Dumbarton offered me a job, sitting second bottom of the third division in Scotland. Their board wanted promotion too. After 66 days in charge and after losing a game we were winning in injury time, the red mist came down and every single player taht was in the side was fined for poor performance.

Back on the dole then. They were pants anyway.

With 6 games to go of the season Welling came in to offer me the job....my third club of the season. A steady start (and a squad with some handy players in it) saw them finish mid table, and me only lose my first game on the last day of the season.

They finished 12th will Alfreton finished 4th

It's patched now, at the start of season 5, and my scouts have gone mental. Almost wish i hadn't done it. It actually makes it more difficult to find players than pre-patch.

After the first couple of seasons my scouts were finiding just about the right number of players and the occasional goodun.

Season 4

Conference South

Welling Utd(my nearest conference club)

This season would see me complete at least one season in each of the confrences. I have the feeling I will be here for a while.

After going through the motions of the last few games of the previous season my new job began in earnest. The board wanted me to rebuild the squad - fine by me...but I chose carefully only brining in 5 players, including a talented 19yr old SC from Chesterfield and a good looking D/M R who ironically had been previously employed by Dumbarton.

A fairly incosistant season, with a few encouraging performances saw us finish in 12th, though in truth our end of season form let us down and we could have finished three or four places higher. The new striker bagged an impressive 26 goals. Of concern was the lack of goals from elsewhere.

Of concern was an inability to compete with the "bigger" clubs in the league, nut over all a satisfactory season.

Season 5

Conference South - Welling Utd

An excellent season that was to end in dissapointment. 4 players were added pre-season. A young AML from QPR with bags of potential, a Scottish D/ML who had been ditched by Northampton, and cruicially the signing of Eastleigh's FC who had been their to scorer. A few other additions were to have little impact.

The squad now had a little more strength in depth and a solid start to the season saw us in and around the playoff places without ever really being a threat to the top sides. Towards the tail end of the season we seemed to find a very settled combination (with the D/M L and the new F C both excelling themselves) and we comfortably reached the playoffs. Far exceeding the boards expectations and any previous seasons performance by the side. Dissapointing was our home record, drawing far too many games while our away record was by far the best in the league.

A playoff place was secured with one game left, although an injury to the S C bought from Chesterfield was a huge blow.

AFC Wimbledon were seen off in the play-off semi final. They were somewhat unlucky to lose their away leg 3-0 after bombarding our goal for most of the game.

The final was against bogey team Tamworth, and despite taking the lead we lost in the last minute of extra-time, both their goals coming from horrific defensive errors.
