2007/8 season CONFERENCE SOUTH.
With AFC Wimbledon being the newcomers, I was surprised we were predicted 13th in the conference south.
SIGNINGS IN: 9 ( I would only say 5 of them were used this season.)
SOLD: 2
RELEASED:0
The start of the season was the usual “just promoted form” with the majority of the starting 10 matches ended 1-0, 1-1, 0-1 or 0-0
Things changed in January. The goals started flying in. The highlight of the season being a huge 6-1 win against Thurrock which was to decide the future of the club.
The season as a whole was brilliant., with Useless Striker (this must have been a one off season, he has appalling attributes.) scoring 14 in his first 14 games, but scored 2 in 17 after that, with the magic wearing off. Dangerous Winger was a revelation as he was only drafted in for my Superstar Midfielder as he was injured for 7 months then later on sold. Dangerous Winger was one of the best signings I have ever made on football manager and managed to muscle 10 goals in his 30 matches, with 8 assists. English Poacher steadily scored more and more goals as the season progressed, ending up the leagues top scorer. Ageing Keeper was a complete surprise, only conceding 36 in the whole season, outshining every other keeper in the league.
[b]AFC Wimbledon won the league![b]

2008/9 Season CONFERENCE.
Once again, we were the newcomers in the league. Hardly any purchases were made as I was quite confident with the potential the squad showed last year.
SIGNINGS IN: 1 (Defensive left back)
SOLD: 0
RELEASES: 12
Athletic defender set the league alight from start to finish, with an average rating of 7.30 (brought down by 2 5’s.) And he was obviously my best player.
We started brilliantly with 6 wins in the first 8 games, but it went downhill from there, finishing with 8 losses in 12 matches. It was a very average and inconsistent season. Hopefully the next one will more noticeable. But mid-table obscurity was probably for the best. Target Man 1 was the highlight of the strikers, scoring 16 in the league, which was impressive.

Cups again were’nt worth mentioning

[b]2008/9 Season[b] CONFERENCE.
SIGNINGS IN: 16
SOLD: 1
RELEASED: 21
As you can see, a complete overhaul as I wasn’t too pleased with the consistency last time around.
The start of the season left a LOT to be desired, hovering around the relegation zone for the first 15 games, with no one really shining, except for Target Man 1, scoring every goal we scored then, 10 goals.
This time I wasn’t too impressed with Young Goalkeeper (First season buy), conceding 20 in the first third of the fixtures, yet I stuck with him, to my fortune, hardly conceding again all season. Then again he did get injured.
I made an affiliate club! Charlton (championship) was the team, and they kindly gave me Outstanding Forward, Midfield Playmaker and Excellent Goalie. Both 20 years old and full of energy. And Outstanding Forward scored 12 in his first 12 games, with Excellent Goalie conceding 5 in his first 10. Midfield playmaker didn’t shine but wasn’t at all bad, he made 8 assists in 9 matches then faded away slightly.
The highlight of the season came when we destroyed York 7-0 at home, we outplayed them all over the park, with no one scoring a hat-trick. Also the end of the season form was amazing, finishing 3rd and leading us into the PLAY OFFS!
Semi Final AFC 0– 1 vs Dag & Red (a) we were outplayed.
AFC 1 – 1 vs Dag & Red (h) overhead kick by Young Striker from 20 yards not enough .
The low point was a takeover failing and the whole beginning of the season.
P W D L F A +/- Pts
46 25 7 14 78 47 31 82
and again, cups suck bumhole.
Highest Scorer: Target Man 1 – 33 (20 In league)
Most assists: Outstanding Forward - 14
Best Player: Outstanding Forward – 7.75 (wow.)

The beautiful game, played by a bunch of donkeys. Post #2
What a shame, such a promising start & then I see you've become a feeder club(such links are banned).
Loose the parent club, then browse the guidelines & we have the making of a good update. You also forgot to mention how the play-offs went, I assume they weren't a succes as no promotion mentioned.
PS. For a 14 year old the location statement is impressive.

The beautiful game, played by a bunch of donkeys. Post #6
The season started like the last, grinding out victories with the biggest win in the first third of the season being 3-0 Against Hinckley and the biggest loss was a shocking 1-4 defeat at the hands of Stevenage (my bogey side).
The players I bought in were immensely needed. With my scouts attributes on the up and being able to scout all of the U.K () I found a gem in Ireland, and for that reason, im going to call him Leppy. My squad looks so different from the one that first graced the conference, its scary!
Once again the star of the season was Target Man 1, whose vaue rocketed up to 150k (I got him for 7) and he is now the highest payed player in the team by £300 p.w!
My new Free Kick Hero was the attacking flair in the midfield, setting up 8 goals in his first 5 games (got him in jan) and other than that it was a season that would be remembered..
The second third was totally different to the first, with a tactics overhaul, meaning more open play which surprisingly didn’t spark a goal fest, us scoring only 20 and conceding 17, which wasn’t all too bad considering the sharp increase in quality in the league.
Target Man 1 was still shining. He is the focal point in my team.
One of the main problems for the past couple of seasons is our inability to turn losses into draws. It’s probably what lost us the promotion last year, and possibly this year. If one word could sum up the season it would be INCONSISTENCY.
The final third of the season was, indeed, inconsistent, not having 2 consecutive wins, draws, or losses.
But, somehow, we got into the playoffs. Meeting Port Vale in the semi’s. At home, we won 2-0 overpowering them in every department. In the away leg it was a whole different story, with exactly the same happening, winning 2-0 and overpowering them .
Now, onto the final. Will AFC Wimbledon finally make it into league football?
Let’s hope so. It was against Aldershot who finished one place below us in the league.
(I decided to scrap the league table bit.
we finished 4th with 81 points from the season, including 25 wins, 6 draws, and 15 losses (note the lack or consistency, and the fact we gained a point more last season.).
First Half:
Aldershot were by far the better team this half, with us not getting any of the ball or the rub of the green, it seems, as we go into the second half 1-0 down.
Second Half:
A much improved performance by us, thanks to the genius that is me , we completely outclassed them for the whole half, but couldn’t manage to beat the man of the match keeper on their side, until the 94th minute, where a perfectly legitimate goal by Target Man 1 was disallowed for offside. The dream was over for another year.
Top Scorer: Target Man 1 (Yet again) – 20 goals.
Most Assists: Target Man 1 – 9 assists.
Highest Average Rating: Consistent DC – 7.19 (42 apps)
