alright guys. im new to the forums so i will try to not break any rules.
ive been playing with cambridge city and got promoted in my 1st season and avoided relegation in my second season. i requested a new contract and the board agreed i deserved a new contract. so i kept waiting and waiting and eventually my contract expired and i was forced to leave.
my clubs long term ambition was to finish in a respectable league position in BSS after two years whereas i actually finished 14th in the BSP. however on the confidence tab, the bar indicating the boards happiness with my achievement of the long term plan was empty, even though i had far exceeded their expectations.
is this a bug or do i need to take the rough with the smooth...

sacked even though fulfilled all expectations Post #2
Well, you were not actually sacked, your contact ran out and they did not wish to offer you a new one. They may have said they did but that's life.
It happened to me after two reasonably successful years in Portugal, the board failed to offer a new contract and the news item when the contract ran out said: "The board felt they want to move in a different direction".
I do not think of this as a bug, just a realistic simulation of the life of a football manager. IRL I have seen managers sacked when their team is leading the league, sacked after 4 games of a new season, sacked after gaining promotion. Nothing surprises me anymore.

I am going with patch failure, I had the same situation in my save, and I had to insist again and the contract arrived the day before the season started (June something).
the board messages kept saying that the board was looking for a replacement - if I didn't stay.

I read a post the other day regarding a player who took on Leeds United (15 point deduction).
(I know not LLM but using it as an example).
He took Leeds up into the EPL and after two seasons was 2nd in the Premier Table, then they had a board takeover and the new board sacked him and appointed a new manager, even though he'd taken them from League 1 to runners up in the Premier league. That would annoy me more than not having my contract renewed.
