When ever I am losing towards the end say 10 minutes to go I change my formation and go to all out attack and it either plays out the last 10 minutes with no highlights or I get a long highlight of my back 4 passing the ball to each other making no attemt to go forward just wasting time even though time wasting is off and their supposedly attacking, they of course usually crown this stupid passing action off by one blasting the ball into touch because someone comes within 50 feet of them.
Or conversely if your winnning you change to ultra defensive and you watch in disbelief as all of your players go up for an attackand you have their strikers unmarked on the half wayline and they go to a counter attack and your defenders are still in their box? what on earth is defenseive about a forward run at a stupid moment.
these are just some of the things bothering me about this game and its better to come on here and rant than to break the damn disk lol.

Is there any point in telling players what to do? Post #2
I still think its stupid if you want to defend a lead surely a team would try and tighten up at the back instead on FM they go gung ho its a bit stupid having the option of ultra defensive isn't it its just plain useless it turns your players into morons.

I always tell my Czech Rep forwards Not to do long range shoot (simply because they always blow chances away) + min free play. However, they keep doing it.

It's certainly cheaper to rant on here, can't keep buying new games.
To answer the original question, at the moment i would say no, there really isn't much point telling them to do anything. Protecting a lead now is almost impossible, and if you do succeed in protecting a lead, it's probably down to the opposition being useless rather than your tactics having any real effect!
