I like to draw the FA Cup manually, talking all the way through it, pretending I'm Trevor Brooking. "League One strugglers Bristol City....will face Newcastle. Possible upset?"

Sometimes I'll even appoint two imaginary FA Cup heroes from yesteryear. Perhaps Keith Houchen and Mickey Thomas.

I even have my own balls and sack...

I'm more thans ure of that, Richard76, but there was a time in old versions where this was more or less an acknowledged fact, and I guess psychologically I still believe so.

I believe the draw is decided the day before the 'user' sees it, so you'd be getting the same draw over and over if you saved on the day of the draw as it is already 'known.' If you do the draw over and over reloading the save game from a couple of days before (as one of my co-workers has been) you'll see they are in fact totally random.

As someone has said the draws are random, but they are made some time before the actual draw process you see.

It's annoying in wales, I always get one of the best sides from england (Cardiff or Swansea, normally Swansea) in one of the cups when they enter, I'm TNS so win the other 2 cups and league, but wouldn't mind winning the main one if I could draw a lower side left, and they draw each other then maybe I can have a chance in the final (I have English Championship and L1 players on loan, inc goalkeeper and 2 strikers) so I am basically a L2 english side

The draw button wasn't pressed, I was at the news story, when I click on view draw and then automatic draw it comes out the same every time.

I think it's calculated when the news story arrives, or maybe when you click into the draw for the news story.

What completely p***** me off is that I always get the matches to line up perfectly agianst whom I'm playing in the league if they're still in the competition.

So imagine the cup game, to be played in a month, comes after (or before) the game against TEAM X. Who do I get in the cup?

exactly same happened to me. first season wi Man City got Aston villa in League Cup Semis either side of an EPL game against them. in second season i drew Reading at home the week before i was due to play them. having dispatched them i am drawn against west ham. first league after that? west Ham! this has happened on previous versions as well

TEAM X, of course...

Har. But this is FM I always see them struggle. Clearly performing above their station in real-life

Got to agree with you there. I think everyone is waiting for the slump to come.
