Go to Tactics & training forum & check out "the best 4-4-2 in the world" thread (by SAFC8).

It does what it says and works at Champ & International level - its not a super tactic but it is the dogs boxxox.

(and I post this after seeing my pre patch tactic set fail miserably with the new patch so I know the frustrations being experienced)

PS am bit dim so couldnt work out how to post a link to SAFC8's thread.

Thanks for reading this - enjoy!

So basically whether FM08 is awsome or not is decided on whether you are winning or not ?

I think its great and

a) Im not winning
b) Im not resorting to downloading other peoples tactics ! (although point a) implies I should!)

Jam Man, you obviously didnt read the thread. Enjoyment for me is the team playing as you want, but yes winning is part of the enjoyment - I got beaten 5-1 by Sheff Utd but the way it happened was more tollerable than my usual run of narrow defeats - anyway you dont have to use if it is against your principles.

So, in order for our team to play as we want we have to be using this tactic, eh?

You've shot yourself on the foot mate about the "awesomeness" of FM08 post-patch.

I think the guy's just trying to say that if people aren't enjoying FM08 because they find the tactical side too complicated and are sick of losing then this tactic could help them find some enjoyment again (I have never used the tactic so don't know if this is true).

I also much prefer to make my own tactics but I'm sure there are some people who would just like to find a tactic that worked and concentrate on the other aspects of the game. Each to their own I say.

Spot on, Chopper. I was really struggling before, I've never really liked the deep tactics side of the game and considered it more of a chore. I made several on FM05 that got me through that and FM06. Only my knack of building a great side for little money got me success in FM07 and in FM08 it's become a bit much.
I'm using the Fiora2 tactic (it's what the file's called anyway) and loving it. It's not a supertactic and I do have about as much success as I would expect in RL, so I can concentrate on keeping my teams in the black, keeping the squad happy and picking up bargains in all my games!
The way I look at it I still have to choose the best tactic to download. Many so-called 'guaranteed winning tactics' have fallen flat on their arses in different leagues.

Will also check out that tactic by SAFC8.

Downloading other people tactics is for loosers. The whole point is to build a tactic and a team that wins.
