08 seems a very strange game indeed. Shots/goals/wins ratio is widely known. Secondly, there's people doing things their attributes don't alow them to do and vice versa. Thirdly, an exaple, I was playing League Semi Final 1st leg, and my team turned into crap (all 5-6) for no obvious reason.
I understand that 08 is probably trying to tell me: your tactic is not programmed into me, I'm not sure about it, so I'll just cut down the number of your goals for realism. In the third case it's telling me: your team is way to unexperienced, immature for promotion, hold off. But it lacks proper game instrument to show me that, players stop scoring/playing, and that's it! No way I could guess if it comes down to tactics, confidence, talks, bonuses, ambition etc. Anything can be explained by anything in 08 now, whereas there are supposed to be clear connections, because it is a computer programme, but we have no way of digging them out.
BTW, I'm playing 801, perhaps should go back to beta.

In there you will actually see whether they are confident for an upcoming game, whether they are happy with bonuses, whether they want to go on loan or not.
Yes it doesnt cover everything but a lot of what you want is already there.

Sure I do look at profiles, and this part of the game is what makes most fun.
(I've been into CM/FM for 10 years, so I know a lot really
This is why I think it weird, when out of the blue confident players with high morale play against team their even, give the worst performance in a season, and it happens on the League Semifinal. I'm thinking of going back to Beta 1 or 2 now.

I know what you mean. You mean that the game engine can't come up with a proper way to beat your tactics and instructions, so it just doesn't allow you to win. You do get that feeling sometimes with fm, its just part of the game, i don't think there's much that can be done about it.
