Retired people (Players, Managers, etc) should stay around
Maybe I just do not know better; but it seems like retired players completely disappear from the game.
I would love to be able to go back and look at the careers of some of the more prominent people even after they're retired.
I would also love to hear news items involving these players (Karl Heinz cannot stop talking about Germany, etc.)
Now, I do get that the db would be bloated to enormous sizes if there were no way of "recycling" personnel. However, I would love to see the following people retained in the database even after they've retired:
* People who were once a part of "my" team (players, staff)
* People who were parts of the national team for the selected leagues
* Others who are legends
Simple heuristic to define a legend: Anyone who had 50+ caps for his country.
More complex heuristic: Above + any player who has ever held a record. (If someone holds the "youngest player ever played for the club" record; I'd really like to be able to see how their career turned out).
Thoughts ?
