Default To all our new members...

joanykins, it looks like we've got our own little "chat" going on here.

Firstly, you can only enlarge your "view" (see the whole lot, as you say) to the size of your computer screen... otherwise, your image will spills over, in which case you use the navigation pallette to navigate/see those parts.

Now, you can 'maximize' your screen area... as per example below.
(F) key!

Does this clarify things? [confused]

Ha ha. Looks like SilvrWolf if too late. Thank you Wbiss for your extreeeme patience! Yes the penny has now dropped! Actually when looking on the attached diagram I never noticed the fit to screen entry. This answers my question. Life should be sooooo much easier from now on! Until the next problem comes up of course!

Gametamer is an unknown quantity at this point
Default To separate the shadow itself...

I had occasion not only to have to put a shadow on a separate layer, but to get rid of the existing shadow.

1.)Marquee select arounmd the shadow.
2.)Choose Select, Color Range.
3.)Click on the shadow while still in the dialog box, and then drag the fuzziness to the right until you have only the shadow selected. Click OK.
4.) Delete the shadow, or choose Select, Modify, Expand, and then expand the shadow area to ensure you got all the errant pixels.

BTW, it helps to have a totally white background going temporarily to be able to spot the entire shadow.

My Best,
Gare
