Default separate drop shadow

Hello,

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I've done a few searches and can't find anything on this but does anyone know how to separate a drop shadow from a graphic so that the drop shadow can be used in Quark as a stand-alone? TIA

Natalia

This is a short tutorial that describes the use of selection tools:
http://www.photoshopgurus.info/begin...on-tools.shtml

Another way to separate a shadow (depending on what exactly you want to achieve) is by adding a "drop shadow" layer style and give the object the same color as the background.
Don't forget; you can't use these shadows as a transparent GIF on a webpage without losing quite some quality.

If you have any more questions, start a new thread in the "Technical Q&A" section.

Gonna leave a post just to make the world a better place!
And if anyone uses LightWave 7... Help! I had no idea what I was getting into. I'm reading the book and all the tutorials I can find. I just need some basic "hand-holding" to get started.

O.K.

Just registered. There's nothing like a new photoshop forum! New to me anyway. I am a photoshop freak and will do anything to use photoshop. Well, almost anything. Hopefully I will learn some new and exciting things here.

thanks
