I manage Newcastle in FMO8 but I really need help regarding instructions to give my back 4. I play a 4-4-2 formation which I prefer and I score no problem but I leak so many goals, I'm getting 3-3 and 4-4 draws after being 3-0 or 4-0 up. I ask my team to close down and tight mark but I'm just wondering was instructions fellow gamers give their defenders to keep it tight at the back
I play with 3-1-3-1-2 with 3 centre backs and a DMC. no fullbacks and concede relatively few goals (8 in the first 14 games of the season, scored 39). The CB's and DMC are all set to v.defensive, high closing down, normal tackling,
low forward runs, low creative freedom.
They basically stay at the back and let the more skillful players do the attacking.
Thanks for that, I'll give it a blast. Only trouble is I have good fullbacks and they do get plenty of assists from deep crossing, but when I'm up a goal or two, I'll give that a try
I think the problem may be that, one tactic isn't going to work versus every team, you need to change it, just a little bit as you go along. See, if you face united away, you may use tight marking to reduce space, but if your going 3-0, 4-0 up, maybe it could be better to not get as tight to the forwards or wingers, because if they turn you then their pretty much going to score, but if u not so much back off, but lower the closing down, your kind of sayin to them your not going to get past me you have to do something special from 25 yards to score, just a suggestion !
