Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Need help, lower league tactics?

I'm currently Ayr United in the Scottish second division, and I can hardly score a goal never mind winning any games.

I have a budget of 20K!!!!

Anyone got any good ideas for a tactic for lower skilled players?

I'd kill for your transfer budget

For me (bluesquare south) using manmarking with a low closing down (2-4) seems to keep the goals from comming. On the attack I'm really struggeling but counter attacking seems to work slightly well, and if you have a talented passer (Which I don't -_-) make him a playmaker to help you quickly pass the ball to the front-lines.
You should also try to have a defensive midfielder lined up to help the defense, and hope for your players to be able to push the ball to the strikers.
Wingers should be attackers in my opinion, the closing down issue makes it fairly easy for them to keep the ball up the pitch. (if at all talented)

I like the new feature of right clicking on a player and selecting - use player for filter. If you select your best players for this you may find some good bargains with decent quality

Sorry, ignore that, personal joke that I'd be suprised if anybody recognised

Anyway; Right click on player - go to 'Misc' at the bottom, then you should see an option saying 'Filter From Player' (or similar).

Really handy feature actually

Stupid me, I did actually see this feature the other day and totally ignored it
Excellent feature really so you can find better players than what you have. Can save many hours of trawling for players.

I'm managing at lower league, when you mention your closing down, you say it's on on 2-4, do you mean from the lowest as that is very low. If so is that a global setting or ??
