Hello everyone, after a rather unsuccesful first post and errors, ive decided to make a new thread and tactic, the old tactic was a 4-1-4-1 , I only tested this in the english leagues, Rather then Dutch, and Spanish , i know have done sufficient testing with my team and created MGV1.01 For Football Manager 2008!
Tested With:
Liverpool: English Premier Division ( Success)ME
PSV: Holland ( Finished 3rd in the league ) Freind
Chelsea: ( Success ) Freind
Valencia: ( Success ) Freind
Sevilla: ( MAJOR Success ) Freind
The shape is a 4-5-1 but focuses passing on the middle to break up 4-4-2's And 4-2-4's.
Goalkeeper: Captain If Old EVDS
Really, you need a decent one,Nothing special.
Left Back:
You need a pacey left back to hold of attacks on the wing, the only vunerability of the tactic is on the wing.
Right Back:
Same as the Left back really, a pacey or a strong one, either will do and if possible, Both, just to hold of attacks on the wing, the pace comes into account when you are counter attacking.
Center Back's:
Strong, they will hold of attacks helped by the DMC, Make sure you have Experience around this area because it is very defensive, and stay back pretty much at all times, Breno has done well.
Defensive Mid':
He will protect your Back 4 and still attack, The Barrow slots right between the DC'S And will come into accounts on corners, Xabi alonso was AMAZING in his role.
Attacking Mid's: [b]PLAYMAKER[B]
Pacey and must be able to dribble, they Should push up whenever possible and help the lone striker in attacks.
Left Mid/Right Mid:
I especially avoided making it into a diamond formation for the reason that they can cut inbetween, with this they will boost your attack by FAR and help play the striker..
Striker:
Strong and pacey, Alan smith did the buisness for me! gets up on corners! TARGET MAN
Tips And Tweaks:
If your losing, Check out there Center Backs, if there short or slow, Put target man Supply to head and run onto ball collectivly.
