well i've just been beaten 3-1 after taking the lead

was dominated on shots 19 to 12 (on target 13 to 5)
was dominated on possession 55% to 45%

Just cannot seem to pick a win from anywhere and am on the verge of leaving it now, and putting something else on.

Asked to close down scholes always and tight mark the striker, scholes was constantly in space and scored a goal from distance and the striker had a ball played to him and he only had the gk to beat. Plus my players never seem to have the speed to pass a player.

Many times during the match that a ball was played to Torres/Pandev and Vidic had the better of them both on pace (when torres has 17 for acc and pace and pandev has 19 acc and 16 pace to vidic's 13 for both)

chelsea dominated with 54% of the possession. they created 22 shots and 12 were on target to my 11 chances 5 on target.

one striker never got a shot all game while the other striker had many.

defensively it doesn't look to bad a tactic as we held chelsea off right up until the second half.


it seems the tactic works a lot on long balls because both strikers attempted a lot of headers and over 50% of those were successful.


don't want to judge this tactic over one game against a very strong chelsea side so i will give my overall judgement in a few games time.

Just lost again 2-1 at home. Have gone from top of the league, unbeaten with 2 games in hand, to not winning a game since january (start of march now) and am now sitting in 3rd 2pts behind second

am at the point now where i don't enjoy it at the moment at all
