How do you defend agaist one striker?

Sorry, if this already has been covered somewhere else, I'd be happy to go to that thread instead.

Anyway, how would you defend against a one-striker formation such as the 4-1-4-1 if youre playing with 4 at the back? I have my two CD's set to man mark. That is a remnant from before the patch. Anyway, suggestions are welcome!

Not tried this, but would personally consider playing a defensive midfielder man marking the lone striker and have the 2 central defenders on zonal marking.

Yeah, sounds logical so that's an option. However, I was thinking it should be possible to go more attacking in some way and punish them. Maybe only playing 3 at the back?

I set tight marking to always in opp instructions on the ST.

Try setting your slowest pace / acceleration central defender to man marking and the other to zonal to pick up the pieces if the striker escapes his chains.

Thx, all the suggestions seem logical. Did you guys try any of them or is it just your thoughts?
