Rashidi i am sorry but why don t you admit that the closing down simply dont work? how can a midfielder run side by side with a oposition player for 30-40 meters without trying one single time to do a tackle despite having closing down 20 and hard tackle?
It´s a annoying bug....admitt....
I just cant t figure how can a game been sold with so many bugs!! Are sigames short in game tester? Or the game tester are simply interested in receving a free game?
I am available to test this game i love since my Amiga 500. In my opinion sigames and the FM squad are failing somehow. Creating or putting the game in a massive manager game they always missing something....I can admit like in Fm2007 that teams and their name or historical weight can override a great eleven in a middle team ( i strongly disagree because football is everthing about the eleven guys out there in the field...but ok...) But a game full of error is simply embarass don t you think?

But to be fair with you and to sigame i have tried the closing down 20 with tigh marking.....but even with my defensive line at 15 they still defend to close of my own area....but i have tried with a 5 men defence. With a sweeper and wing backs But only the wing back played with tigh marking and closing down 20. I am just a little confused....the tigh marking didn t worked well in fm 2007...correct me if i am wrong

I have admitted that closing down doesn't work, SI knew it didn't too before release and attempted to fix it, unfortunately they tweaked it too much. We do know the patch will address that issue which is why PaulC has been pointing people in the direction of the tactics forum for help. For now though at least this will have to do.

And I'm not about to start debating the closing down issue here in the forum too.

my fullbacks close down at 11-12 and my dc closes down 5. Everybody else max CD and tight marking but i still have problems. Can anyone give me some tips? My d-line is 11(that means one click to the right of normal).

The guilty tweak was applied after testing was finished I believe.

ok i have tried a different aproach
with all team closing down 15 and with tigh marking (just the defensive midfielder is without tigh marking) and playing diamond i have my full backs with the first atacking mentality . central defenders with normal mentality (middle) and golkeeper with first normal mentality. Defensive midfielder normal (middle) it seems that players dont come back so deep and they try to closing down or be near the oposition somewhere in the middle of our midfield and not in our own area.....would someone give it a try and tell me something? i just tried to matches and won agains marseille 3-1 and Setubal 3-0 . I am playing with sporting...Just one major transfer ...Eddie jhonson...;-)

Something that often helps me especially if I need to protect a one-nil lead or I'm playing the good teams/fast forwards (Ferdinand, Upson and Kompany aren't that fast) is to play the two center backs as sweeper. You could always try that

i have tried but i managed to suffer a goal per match from a deflected free kick....3 games in a row and in one of the games 2 times.....is to much to me....i think or i wait for the patch or i will try to sell my game. it seems almost impossible to play without being nervous....whats the point of playing?
maybe i am a little disapointed....i dont know but it seems all the same errors i appointed at fm 2007
