Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

would you be able to put your tactic here as a download if possible?
I might as soon as I'm satisfied with how my team plays. Right now I'm waiting for the patch and data update before tweaking my tactic some more so I won't be uploading anything for a couple of weeks. And you know, it's always much more fun to design something yourself.

Really struggling with getting Adebayor and van Persie to score more goals. Training might be the reason, not sure. I seem to be lacking in penetration to create clear cut chances, bit like Arsenal last year, and the ones I do get I fail to put away.

I've set up in a 4-1-3-2 like most others, with sarrows for Hleb/Rosicky and a farrow for Fabregas (not sure if he should have one tbh but he seems to be playing some good footie with the other mids and the strikers this way. I'm not quite sure how to set up my closing down, atm its own half for Gilberto/Rosicky/Hleb and first notch of Whole pitch for Fabregas. This is giving me quite a few counter attacking opportunities which I usually fail to capitalize on, so maybe I should try with higher CD for the side midfielders to try and maintain a constant pressure instead. Anyone else got ideas on the closing down instructions in the middle?

Like I've pointed out earlier in this thread I don't think you should have Cesc on higher than normal CD. He should be in space as soon as the ball is in your possession so he is available to receive and distribute passes as much as possible.

I would do it the other way around really: High CD for both of the flanking mids with your DM on higher CD as well. I think this is particularly important if you're playing with an attacking mentality. The DM should be covering the back four and harassing the opponents while the centre backs are ready to do their job should anyone get through that first line of defence.

But like I said, it all comes down to how you want to play. If you're going for an attacking style close down all over the pitch with most of your players. If you want to play a more cautious style and try and hit your opponents on the break, then close down rarely.

Just wont the prem last day of season last two results were 4-1 against city and 4-1 away at blackburn using a similar style.

Certainly playing the arsenal 1-2 tough fb with a 442, hleb, rosicky curve arrows behind sc's (amc positions), flamini curve line to dmc and cesc no arrows with CD normal, TB often, att mentality, CF much. All positions were the default set to positions. Quick tempo, short passing 3-4, Narrow, focus through middle (is important) and arrows on FB one notch (to get the width from the narrowness and through middle.

This seemed to work fine.
